Derwent Inktense Pencils are watersoluble and blendable and are available in a range of brilliant colours.  Also available (in sets of 24, 36 and 72) is a non-watersoluble Inktense pencil which is great for use as a permanent outliner.

To blend your Inktense colours, simply use a wet paintbrush over your work.  Sweeping the brush across your work, you can also apply an overall light wash which creates a vivid, ink-like translucency.  Try dipping your pencil tip in water before drawing or drawing over damp paper for different effects.  Once dry, Inktense Pencil is permanent and can be worked over with both soluble and non-soluble media.  Derwent Inktense Pencils are incredibly versatile and can be used to create a diverse range of art - from traditional watercolours to vibrant silk painting, stunning botanical illustrations to Japanese Manga.
