My name is Manny. My wife Meg and I run Art Shed Brisbane and Circle Gallery. It's name reflects our goals.

In general, to be offered a show by a commercial gallery, you had to be known. To get known you had to have had shows to your name! Meg and I have learned this from personal experience. So...We created a gallery where truly emerging artists might showcase their work. The gallery is offered without curatorial interference and is available to all creative people, not just the commercially favourable or fashionable.

Meg and I decided our gallery should charge no commission on sales and have the following:

• Lots of affordable space
• A professional lighting and hanging system
• Easy parking
• Kitchen and toilet facilities
• Air-conditioning
• A website and mailing list
• Close to the art hub that is West End
