2025 Queen’s Wharf Brisbane Art Prize: $30,000 in Prizes for Stories Told Through Art
The Royal Queensland Art Society (RQAS), in partnership with Queen’s Wharf Brisbane and The Star Brisbane, proudly presents the 2025 Queen’s Wharf Brisbane Art Prize (QWBAP), a celebration of place, creativity, and local storytelling through visual art.
Running from 4 September to 28 September 2025, this highly anticipated exhibition invites artists to explore and reflect on what makes Brisbane and its surrounds so unique. Whether it’s an iconic location, a personal memory, or a cultural insight, the challenge is to tell the story of Brisbane through art.

A Celebration of Local Stories
Each artwork entered must be accompanied by a short written statement that explains its connection to the Greater Brisbane region. This narrative element helps deepen the audience's engagement, offering insight into each artist’s personal or cultural connection to place.
The finalist exhibition will open with a launch night on Wednesday 3 September at Petrie Terrace Gallery, and be on display to the public from Thursday 4 September to Sunday 28 September 2025.
Gala Awards & Showcase
Winners of the QWBAP will be announced at a special Awards Night held at The Star Brisbane Event Centre on Wednesday 1 October.
Following the Petrie Terrace exhibition, selected finalists and winning works will be showcased at The Star Brisbane from Thursday 2 October to Sunday 9 November 2025, offering extended public exposure and a chance for even more art lovers to connect with Brisbane’s creative spirit.

Artists selected for the Queen’s Wharf Showcase will be notified by email with pickup instructions.
Entry Details
- Entry Fee: $50 per artwork
- Presentation: All artworks must be professionally finished and ready to hang
- Canvas Edges: If unframed, edges should be painted cleanly or finished “in the round”
- D-rings: Must be securely attached 5 to 10cm from the top of the frame or canvas
- Artwork Labels: Include artist name, contact info, title, and price on the back
