Fisher's Ghost Art Award 2025: Australia's Premier Art Competition Opens for Entries

The Fisher's Ghost Art Award is back for its 63rd year, and it's bigger than ever! This prestigious Australian art competition is calling for entries across multiple categories, offering artists the chance to showcase their work and compete for substantial prize money.

Now in its 63rd year, this celebrated competition has launched the careers of many respected contemporary artists including Elisabeth Cummings, Khaled Sabsabi, Justene Williams, and David Bromley. The award coincides with Campbelltown's annual Festival of Fisher's Ghost, a ten-day celebration that's been running since 1956.

Prize Pool

Over $60,000 in total prize money is up for grabs, with the prestigious Open Award offering $50,000 to the winning artist. The Open Award is acquisitive to the Campbelltown City Council Art Collection, making it a significant career milestone for any artist.

Additional awards include the Contemporary Award ($4,000), Traditional Award ($3,000), and several special recognition awards ranging from $1,000 to $1,500. Student categories offer $250 Eckersley's Art & Craft vouchers to winners.

Exhibition Dates

The exhibition runs from Saturday 27 September to Friday 21 November 2025, with the award announcement taking place on Friday 31 October. All finalist works will be available for purchase during the exhibition period.

Entries Close

Don't miss your chance to be part of this prestigious competition. Entries close on Monday 28 July 2025 at 11:59pm. Finalists will be announced on Friday 20 August.
