Personalise Your Phone Case with POSCA Markers DIY Tutorial

Looking to add a pop of personality to your phone? Grab your favourite POSCA markers and get creative! Whether your case is clear, matte, or glossy, POSCA paint sticks beautifully to plastic – no fuss, just fun.

What You’ll Need:

  • Plastic phone case (clear or coloured)
  • POSCA Paint Markers – use a mix of fine and broad tips
  • Soft cloth or tissue
  • Water-based spray varnish (matte or gloss)
  • Optional: Pencil and eraser

Step 1: Prep the Surface

No special primer is needed – just clean your phone case with a soft cloth to remove dust or grease. A clean surface means better paint adhesion!

Note: Smoother plastic takes longer to dry, so allow more time before handling.

Step 2: Plan Your Design (Optional)

Sketch out your design with a pencil if you'd like a guide. Or dive in and freestyle your artwork – POSCA markers are great for layering and fixing mistakes.

Step 3: Get Painting

Shake your markers well before use, and press the tip to get the paint flowing. Use broad tips for backgrounds and fine tips for details and outlines.

Step 4: Let It Dry

Let your finished artwork dry fully. Glossy or slick surfaces will take longer, so be patient to avoid smudging.

Step 5: Seal Your Artwork

Protect your design with 2 coats of water-based spray varnish. Hold the can 30cm from the case and spray in smooth, circular motions. Choose matte or gloss for your preferred look.
