In this Portrait Painting course students will learn to analyse the structure of the head and features and to observe how light interacts with their subject. This course is suited to intermediate level to advanced students although beginners are welcome.

We will cover drawing the head, tonal painting and mixing colour. Students will also have the opportunity to work from the live model, a rewarding challenge.

About the Tutor

Professional Artist/Instructor Mark Feiler grew up in Mackay, North Queensland. He works out of his home Studio in Highgate Hill Brisbane in South-East Queensland. Mark studied Fine Art at the Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney perfecting his drawing and oil painting skills. Feiler began teaching Art at Atelier Art Classes in Salisbury Brisbane in 2014. When Covid interrupted Studio classes in 2020 he created Brisbane Art Classes; Online Art School. He is passionate about teaching students traditional techniques in drawing and painting.
