Stop hunting for the shade you need. This box holds every colour in the Luminance 6901 range, so you pick a colour instead of mixing one.
Features
- 100 Luminance 6901 coloured pencils, among them 8 shades found only at Caran d'Ache
- A pencil blender for small, controlled areas, plus a Full Blender for larger passages: a colourless medium of oil and wax
- High density foam keeps every pencil in place inside a box roughly 35 x 20 x 6cm
- Lightfastness rated under ASTM D-6901: 81 colours LFI, the top rating, and the rest LFII
- 3.8mm permanent lead that is creamy and wax based, with enough pigment to layer, blend and burnish. Water resistant once down
- Cedar barrels with FSC certification, matched to each lead, carry a printed colour name and number on every pencil
- The maker's rating says it holds up for as long as 100 years on normal display
- Every colour sold individually as open stock
The company has been making drawing tools in Geneva since 1915, still in its own Thônex workshop, and it has been family owned since the 1930s. Prismalo, launched in 1931, was the world's first watercolour pencil.
Staff tip
Fill the spare pages of a sketchbook with one test stroke per colour, first light then firm. It will end up the reference you reach for most.
