Staff tip

Lay down a patterned scrap or a loose wash of colour first, then let it dry before you draw over it in ink or marker. Add a few words to finish. Layered pages almost always look richer than pages completed in one pass.

Keep several spreads going at once so drying time never stalls you, and close the cover once all pages are dry. If you want to paint wet, the Blue Linen journals use 100% cotton watercolour paper instead.
