A foundation of Watercolour Ground gives virtually any surface a new texture similar to cold-press watercolour paper. It allows you to achieve the same distinctive, transparent qualities of watercolour on wood, metal, ceramic, plastic, glass, stone, plaster and more.

This archival-quality ground can also be used to add texture or to cover surface flaws.

When applied with a 2mm thickness (about the thickness of a five-cent coin), one 4oz jar covers approximately 10 square feet, while a 16oz jar covers around 41 square feet.

For reference, a sheet of 22” x 30” watercolour paper is 4.5 square feet, so a 4oz jar should cover roughly two sheets.
