Art Spectrum Lean Medium is designed to be used in the 'fat over lean' oil painting sequence.Painting fat over lean is essential to prevent layers of oil paints cracking as they dry. Starting with Art Spectrum Lean Medium and finishing with Art Spectrum Fat Medium takes the guesswork out of layering oil paints.

The leanest thinning medium and the fastest drying, Art Spectrum Lean Medium will not wash out oil from pigment. Excellent for under-painting. Ideal for artists who are sensitive to the odour of turpentine.
