Clairefontaine is a French stationery company founded in 1858 in Étival-Clairefontaine, part of the Exacompta Clairefontaine group, with a legacy of over 165 years in paper production. Situated in the Meurthe valley, where papermaking dates back to the 16th century, Clairefontaine quickly became one of the region’s most important factories, benefiting from the local textile industry’s rag supply. Expanding its product range, Clairefontaine began manufacturing envelopes in 1880, followed by notebooks, and continues to offer a wide selection of high-quality papers, notebooks, and stationery, all made in France.
