  • Stitched binding: a slim, flexible spine that lets the book pack flat.
  • Markers: water based markers and fineliners both work on this paper. Alcohol markers can bleed through, so trial a page before committing.

Staff tip

Dedicate each book to a single project. A5 suits a single series, such as a trip, a month of plant studies or a run of comic character designs. Once the pages run out, the project is finished, and you have a tidy volume to show for it.

Label the first page of every book with its project and date. If you only use markers, draw on one side of each page to avoid show through.
