Everything you need for a painting session comes in one portable kit, ready for the kitchen table, a day at the beach or a hike. A natural sea sponge, a palette, an aqua brush and 24 watercolour pans make up this kit, which holds double the colours of the 12 pan set.

Staff tip

Wet each pan you plan to use before the first stroke, then give it a minute to soften. Pans that have been re-wetted give off colour more freely, so your first wash comes out rich rather than streaky, with less scrubbing.

No water jar is needed for most painting. A gentle squeeze wets the tip, and a tissue clears it between colours. The brush also takes inks and most water soluble colours, so a small journal, two tissues and a pencil are all the travel kit you need.
