Seventy six permanent pencils make up the classic Luminance palette, and two Full Blenders fuse the layers. Creamy and lightfast, it suits realism, portraits, botanical art and pet portraits.

Features

  • 76 colours, plus two colourless Full Blenders made of oil and wax
  • 3.8mm permanent lead that is creamy, wax based and water resistant once down
  • Each colour carries an LFI or LFII lightfastness rating under ASTM D-6901, the standard for coloured pencils
  • Across the full 100 colour range, 81 are LFI, the top rating
  • Cedar barrels with FSC certification, matched in colour to each lead and each printed with its colour name and number
  • Open stock, so single colours can be replaced
  • Designed and made in Geneva, Switzerland

Staff tip

Swatch the colours you plan to use on scrap paper first. Luminance is very pigment rich, so close shades can behave differently once layered, and a few minutes now saves fixing it later.

Begin lightly and layer up gradually. Finish by burnishing with a pale pencil or the Full Blender, which fuses the surface into a painted look. To underpaint, lay a wash of Neocolor II, let it dry fully, then build detail in Luminance.
