Gel printing is unrepeatable by nature, but the paper's landing spot is the one thing worth fixing. This clear acrylic corner does that, so each new layer lands in the same place as the last, and your spontaneity stays intact.

How to use it

• Seat the tool in a corner of the inked plate.
• Slide the stencil or paper against the two inside edges and stop when it touches both.
• Press firmly across the sheet, lift the print, then line the paper up against that same corner for the following layer.

Staff tip

Pick the corner you will register to and keep to it through the entire session. The tool is indifferent to which corner you use, yet the layers are not. A corner swap partway through is what knocks a three layer print a millimetre out.

Most printmakers have ruined a good first layer with a crooked second one. The tool is just as useful in workshops and classrooms, where everyone finishes, and for batch runs of cards or tags that must match.
