Gansai Tambi is a Japanese watercolour set made for texture. The granulating colours settle into patterns as they dry, which suits landscapes, illustrations and loose backgrounds.

The binder lets each pan go on thickly, like gouache, and the even pigment keeps colours vivid when they are mixed.

Features

  • Five pans: Lunar Pink (No. 781), Lunar Green (No. 783), Lunar Blue (No. 785), Lunar Orange (No. 782) and Lunar Lime (No. 784)
  • One empty pan for mixing colours
  • Water-based and non-toxic
  • Lightfast and xylene free
  • Handcrafted in Japan and free from odours
  • Creamy when mixed, and thins with water

Pans can show small cracks or bubbles in a dry environment, and this does not change how they work. Kuretake has been making ink and art materials in Nara, Japan, since it was founded in 1902.
