A first clay project that small hands can manage. Each butterfly board has raised outlines that soft air dry clay fills, so every wing becomes its own bright section with no paint and no mess.
In the box
- Two wooden butterfly boards, sized for small hands.
- Air dry, non-toxic clay in a mix of colours.
- Sculpting tools for lines, dots and texture.
- Stands, so the finished butterflies sit on a desk or windowsill.
- Instructions.
- Colours can match the box or be invented, so each butterfly can differ.
Staff tip
Once the clay is in, dot the wings with the pointed tool for a sparkly, patterned finish.
Firm pressing into each section helps it hold as it sets, and a damp finger tidies the edges. A flat spot overnight is usually enough to firm it up, though thick clay and the weather change the timing. Splat Planet is a first for Art Shed this Christmas.
